Being A Professional Development Network Consultant

As a professional development trainer, you'll represent Teaching Strategies by conducting trainings virtually and/or in person any where in the contiguous United States on any one or combinations of our solutions; The Creative Curriculum and GOLD,Coaching to Fidelity, Ready Rosie and Al's Pals. Our research-based approach to professional development consists of:

  • Customized training for our customers
  • Ongoing technical assistance and/or coaching to support quality implementation
  • Relationship-based coaching with teachers and administrators
  • Shared goal-setting, classroom observations, and collaborative planning and problem solving
  • Development of implementation plans, data analysis, report interpretation
  • Study teams, and one-on-one administrator consultation

We are looking for experienced educators who come from the field of early childhood education and can share their expertise in best practices and the use of Teaching Strategies solutions. A successful candidate should possess the following qualities

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and dynamic presence as a presenter
  • Deep knowledge of ECE best practices and current research
  • Flexibility, agility and ability to think on their feet when the best laid plans need to be adjusted
  • Ability to travel using various modes of transportation (planes, trains and automobiles)
  • Uses technology with ease and regularly to communicate and to facilitate training sessions
  • A sense of adventure and enthusiasm for meeting and collaborating with all types of educators from around the country
  • Effective organizational skills and ability to manage travel plans and accounting and expenses related to the trainings conducted

Beyond these qualifications we are specifically looking for educators with experience and certifications in supporting dual language learners, children with special needs and coaching teachers on best practices.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Facilitates and meaningful and intentional Needs Assessment conversation with the customer to inform preparation and planning for an individualized approach to the needs of the customer
  • Designs and arranges the training environment for comfort, interaction and learning
  • Understands and is mindful how personal appearances, dress, use of body language, and the tone of voice impact the presentation, the environment, and how participants engage
  • Employs strategies, such as ice breakers activities and introductions, to build trust among participants and a positive learning environment.
  • Adjusts presentation style and language for the specific group
  • Uses active and reflective listening and feedback to facilitate the group discussion
  • Creates seamless transitions, such as summarizing and bridging, to segue to the next section of the session
  • Uses strategies to keep the group on task, focused and on schedule and is responsive to breaks and questions
  • Employs appropriate strengths to engage participants who are uninvolved, resistant , or disruptive
  • Assesses the skill level of learners and accommodates for a variety of levels and expertise across a continuum, seeks their feedback throughout the session and adjusts accordingly to meet their needs and the customer's needs
  • Identifies opportunities and activities with the client to promote the transfer or learning before, during and after the session by including activities to transfer learning to their job, such as action planning and writing training logs. Ability to link these activities to adult learning using summarizing and pair-share
